Ten Minutes to Paradise?

Ten minutes to Paradise?

BS"D

I was driving on the highway, and I saw a massive ad saying Paradise is 10 minutes away. It was advertising a certain hard rock cafe. I was so surprised at this attempt to advertise, as in no way could I imagine this cafe would appeal as a paradise to anyone, even to people who frequent the place! I could be wrong. I’m not saying people don’t enjoy it, but to call it paradise? That's extreme!

Still,I know that everything you see is for a purpose, and nothing is meaningless. So I realized that maybe there was truth in that statement. Not necessarily the part about the cafe being the paradise, but the part that paradise is ten minutes away.

It’s true! Ten minutes away is a study hall where a man can study Torah, hearing Torah teachings all around him by people intently involved in connecting to their Creator through learning His holy Torah.

Ten minutes away is a synagogue where one can pray, and surrounded by others doing the same, lift one’s voice in sweet words of thankfulness and supplements.

Ten minutes away is a friend who needs help. Where you can bring her a plate of dinner and be appreciated as you putter around her house and ask what she needs help with. Her smile is the paradise.

Ten minutes away is your child finishing school, and you open your arms to welcome him/her before they bounce into your car.

Ten minutes away is a nurturing dish that you chop up and saute and serve up to your family.

Ten minutes away is the time it takes to have a connecting conversation with your children at the dinner table, where everyone is heard, and where their comments are validated.

Ten minutes away, or even a minute away, is the hammock outside where you can take a break, sit, and rock while soaking up the sun, for free, and feel grateful for the love language G-d is showing you, a warm, loving embrace.

Paradise can be your own house, the first few minutes after your cleaning helper has left, and the place is still sparkling.

Paradise, or heaven, is not so far away. There is even a book called Bringing Heaven Down to Earth. Heaven is in our hands!!!

We celebrate the creation of the world, not on the day the world was first created, but on the day man was created. It's in our hands! What we do with our time, what we choose to speak, to learn, to hear, to do, and to share, is our chance to recreate the world, every time making this physical world a divine place. A paradise!

P.S. Check out some of my natural products to bring a little bit of physical paradise, or pleasure, into your world. There is relaxing massage oil, citrus sugar scrub, botanical water, and cinnamon soap to name a few, that bring great enjoyment to the user. You can also spread the joy by giving them to a friend or relative!
