The Power of Light

A little light dispels a lot of darkness. That’s why Chanuka, the Festival of Lights, is so special at this time of year when it’s physically the darkest, longest, coldest nights. There’s always hope! And we light at night to show that. Long after Chanuka is over, we carry that message into the rest of the year.

Nowadays you can get really scared seeing everything going on all around you, and realizing that there’s actual evil in the world! But know that Hashem is by our side the whole entire time, and connecting to Him through His commandments deepens our reliance on Him and His unlimited strength. And because of the darkness we can get that much closer to Him.

A tiny smile can brighten someone's whole day. One favor can change someone’s mood and in turn that person’s family’s mood. One little mitzva can transform yourself and others. One candle lights up the dark. You see it right in front of you.

Light means Torah and mitzvos, and that’s the kind of light we need right now.

A wonderful, beautiful, bright Chanuka to you and your family. Keep lighting up the world.
